Richard Carr

Richard Carr was the son and successor to John and Katherine Carr, presumably as instrument sellers as much as music sellers. Like his father he was closely connected to the Playford family, and in 1685 he collaborated with Henry Playford in the publication of Theatre of Music, 'printed by J.Playford for Henry Playford and Richard Carr, are to be sold near the Temple Church, and at the Middle Temple Gate, 1685'. John Hudgebutt, the Carr's apprentice for instruments had also set up shop nearby at the Golden Harp and Hoboy on Chancery Lane, from as early as 1681.
