Crowther, John

John Crowther
fl. 1760 - d. circa 1810

Sandys & Forster with that he "worked occasionally for John Kennedy as well as the music houses. Died about 1810". This is reinforced in the Hill papers which place Kennedy at Haughton Street, Clare Market about 1755, and give further addresses in Ely Court and Fetter lane. Purfling a dense yellow, varnish tends to be a translucent pinkish red, but generally having an appearance similar to London work by the Furbers on typical Amati and Stainer models of the London trade.
